The BBQ lunch is one of the highlights of a full day on the lagoon. For many guests, the grilled langouste is the highlight of the BBQ. Here is everything you need to know about it.
What is langouste?
Langouste is the spiny lobster of the Indian Ocean. It has no big claws like a European lobster; the meat is in the tail, sweet and firm. In Mauritius it is a treat for special days, grilled simply with garlic butter, lemon and herbs.
How it is served on the boat day
On the full-day trip, lunch is grilled fresh on the beach: chicken, fish, garlic bread, salad, rice and banana flambé for dessert. When you add langouste, it is grilled alongside and served with the BBQ menu, which stays included.
Which portion to choose
- 250 g per person: a generous taste on top of the BBQ, perfect for most guests.
- 500 g per person: for real lobster lovers who want langouste to be the main event.
Current prices are shown in the booking flow on our experiences page. Let us know when you enquire so the langouste is ordered fresh for your date.
Dietary needs
Vegetarian guests are welcome: tell us how many when you book and we adapt the menu. Mention any shellfish allergy too. Read the full BBQ menu.
